    Arrow

    Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

(Wanted to tell you guys about this flick while keeping it somewhat on topic! wink )

We all know that Kurt's a swashbuckler at heart with a flair for the dramatic. Kurt can also be quite the romantic little elf when he wants to be! (At least before the Priest thing.)
That being said, from what I'm hearing about this incredible movie it's something that would be right up Nightcrawlers' alley.

Some friends of mine from New York have seen it and said that I have to see it myself to belive how good it is! Critics are calling it 'this years MATRIX!' And the buzz in tinsel town is that this could well be the FIRST foreign language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture!

Not sure if any of ya are into Martial arts films as much as I am but i've heard it said that even if you arent fans of the genre you'll Love this pic! (It's supposedly as much a Love story as it is an Action film!)

I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!
So it's kind of a bummer that it wont be realeased in Ft. Lauderdale 'til Jan. 22 frown

Here's a link to the offical web-site wich is very nicely put together. if you havent heard about this movie yet this site is a great way to get 'in the know' before it explodes into wide release in the states! Check out the 'Make your own trailer section'..it's awesome!

Just thought i'd give all of my message board buddies the scoop! smile

Ohhhh Man, I want to see that movie. I read about it in a magazine and it sounded awesome. But knowing where I live, I probably won't see until a week after heck freezes over. Oh well, maybe it'll come out on video...

SNIKT! That'd be cool if it was at Regal! Wide screen, digital sound and stadium seating! It's a subtitled movie in limited U.S. release though, so i'm wondering if it'll probably just come to the smaller theater chains in Ft. Lauderdale?

X-GIRL85 I went back to the site to try and see if there was a release date for Wisconsin. Couldnt find a specific listing for WI but I think that all of the U.S. openings will be complete by February 22...hopefully it opens somewhere close to ya!

    Oh. WOW!!! eek

Fellow Nightcrawler maniacs CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON opened in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend and after seeing it last night I have to say WHAT a BEAUTIFULLY done movie!!

I wont give away any spoilers, but I WILL say that even though it wasnt exactly what I'd expected I was STILL blown away!!
It had a very haunting, almost poetic feel to it...I dont want to say much more for fear of giving too much away!
I will recommend though, that whenever you see it really focus on the wonderful STORY and not so much on the (incredible, spontaneous applause inspiring) Martial Arts/fighting scenes.

I would NOT be surprised to see this become the first foriegn language film to walk away with the Oscar for best picture!

    CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON received
    10 Academy Award nominations!?! eek

    10 NOMIONATIONS!!!!

    WOW! biggrin

I'm sorry for babbling fellow elficionados...I know i'm like the only one harping on this movie, but I am absolutely crazy about it!! I think that with it's unprecedented # of Academy Award nominations for a foriegn language film, it'll now go into wide release.

Definitely catch this movie! Tell ya what buds... if ya see it and dont like it, I promise i'll send you the money back for the price of the ticket!

Oh and Double Ditto to our International Elfaholics! When it opens in your part of the world RUN to go see it.

I've seen it twice already and i'll probably drag s'more friends to see it this weekend!

O.K no more babbling! I have kooky taste in stuff, so it may not be everyones cup o' tea. But i'm talking to a bunch of Nightcrawler fans so i'm hoping we'll have similar taste in some other aspects of Sci-fantasy as well!

    We'll see... biggrin

This was the coolest movie I've ever seen. I saw it twice so far, and will definitely be spending a good chunk of food money to buy it on DVD! I was sitting there watching one of the fight sequences thinking "THIS is what Episode 1 shoulda been like!" Hopefully the next Star Wars will take a cue on choreography from CTHD. If you haven't seen it, go see it! If you're someplace that it hasn't been released yet, fly to Denver and I'll pick ya up, and we'll go see it!

I love this movie. 10 minutes into it i forgot i was reading subtitles.

I HATE kung-foo and especially wire-foo, but this movie made it look so beautiful and nearly believable. And i genuinely cared about the characters.

I still haven't quite figured out the true meaning of the movie's name....
